About this session

You want a steadier, clearer life, and part of you is tired of the bargaining. This is twenty minutes to spend on your own side, with no pressure to get anything right.

What you’ll experience

Tom guides you through a slow relaxation from your feet to your face, then down a gentle forest path, counting from ten to one past worn wooden waymarker posts. In a small clearing, with damp earth underfoot and a pale lightening between the far trees, you meet the idea of an old, well-worn track beside a newer path that grows firmer each time it is walked.

You listen to a gust of wind sweeping through the treetops like a wave crossing water, while the trunks and roots stay put. You practise a simple thumb-and-finger anchor, hear a firmer and kinder inner voice, and rehearse meeting a fellow walker at a lantern-lit gate, a picture of telling someone, calling a friend or contacting a doctor or support service. The session ends with gentle scenes of an evening, a harder day and a clear morning.

How to use

Choose a daytime moment when you are clear-headed and have about 21 minutes. Find a private, comfortable place where you will not be disturbed. Headphones are optional. Never listen while driving or operating machinery. If you are called away, pause and return later. With repetition, the skills in the session become more familiar.

Who it’s for

Adults who want to step away from recreational drug use and build a steadier life, and who feel resolve and doubt at the same time. It suits you if you want a calm, non-judgemental session to practise pausing and to feel more in touch with what you value. It is not designed as treatment, and it makes no promise of a particular result.

Safety & notes

This is supportive self-hypnosis. It is not addiction treatment and does not replace professional care. Before stopping, please talk to a doctor or an addiction service, because stopping some substances suddenly can be dangerous without medical support. Reaching out is a sign of strength. Stop listening if you feel unwell. Do not use if you have epilepsy or a serious mental health condition without asking your doctor first. If you are in crisis or have thoughts of harming yourself, contact your local emergency services or a crisis line straight away.

In this session

  • Practise watching an urge as a wave that begins and peaks and ends
  • Find a small pause between a feeling and your next step
  • Hear a firmer and kinder inner voice in place of harsh self-talk
  • Connect with what a clearer life is for: your own mornings and self-respect
  • Rehearse reaching out to a friend or doctor or support service as a strong step
  • Leave feeling steadier in the body with a simple thumb-and-finger cue

What to expect

Every session follows the arc a hypnotherapist would use in the room: down slowly, a while at the bottom, and back up.

Relaxation deepens through the induction, stays deep while the suggestions are given, and rises again before the end.
