About this session

You have something useful to say, and the moment slips past while you polish it. This session gives you twenty-one quiet minutes to practise a steadier, simpler way in.

What you’ll experience

The session opens with slow breathing and a gentle softening of the places that tend to tighten before speaking: jaw, throat, shoulders, chest and hands. You then walk down a quiet back stair, counting from ten to one, with your breath settling lower at each step.

At the bottom is a small harbour at early evening, where a boat swings at its mooring. Through clear green water you notice its keel, the quiet weight that keeps it upright when the wind gusts. You find that same steady weight in your own belly, hips and feet, and you meet the old inner voice as nothing more than weather. The careful part of you that rehearses and waits is thanked, not pushed away. You practise a short first sentence, a simple hand-on-chest anchor, and three brief scenes of speaking up, whether at a table or on a screen.

How to use

Find a quiet, comfortable place where you can sit supported with your feet on the floor. Headphones are optional. It suits the hour before an important meeting, a lunch break, or the evening before a busy week. Listen with your eyes closed, and repeat as often as you like, since the practice tends to grow with repetition. Never listen while driving, operating machinery, or doing anything that needs your attention.

Who it’s for

Capable adults who often stay quiet or speak late in conversations, and who would like to feel more grounded when they do speak. It does not promise that you will never feel nervous, or control how anyone responds. It offers practice in feeling steady while you take the first step.

Safety & notes

This audio is not a substitute for professional care. If your difficulty is linked to a hostile workplace, or feels severe or constant, please seek support from a qualified professional. Stop listening if you feel unwell. Do not use if you have epilepsy or a serious mental health condition without asking your doctor first. You are in control throughout and can open your eyes at any time.

In this session

  • Practise letting the breath settle lower and the shoulders drop before you speak
  • Build a felt sense of steady weight that stays with you as the conversation moves
  • Rehearse a short and plain first sentence without needing it polished
  • Learn a simple palm-and-breath anchor you can use quietly before speaking
  • Meet the old urge to hold back with kindness and a little more choice

What to expect

Every session follows the arc a hypnotherapist would use in the room: down slowly, a while at the bottom, and back up.

Relaxation deepens through the induction, stays deep while the suggestions are given, and rises again before the end.
